Office Imaging Solutions, Inc. (OIS) was established in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1992 by Wes Pearson with the focus of introducing optical imaging technology to small & mid- sized businesses throughout the state. With his extensive experience in the imaging industry of over 30 years with Eastman Kodak customers across the country, he knew business & government agencies would benefit from this budding technology being developed.

The initial Electronic Document Management (EDM) systems were designed to reduce paper handling and storage, reducing document loss and providing access to information in a more timely manner. These proprietary systems allowed for scanning of paper files and labeling them with a simple indexing scheme stored out to Optical Discs for viewing and printing retrieval.

With the continuing development of both scanners and capture & retrieval software systems, OIS moved away from these proprietary systems to the open architecture scanning hardware & software platforms. A wider variety of scanners and scanning speeds were becoming available to meet the specific needs for scanning paper documents whether single sided (simplex) or double sided (duplex) and adding the ability of capturing images in color. Software developments allowed for not only the capture of scanned documents but introduced conversion of Computer Output to Laser Disc (COLD) and Enterprise Report Management (ERM) to image files which eliminated the need for bulky green-bar reports, workflows and Business Process Management (BPM) abilities. As traditional EDM systems developed into Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems, they gained the ability to be deployed as not only the traditional software application implemented On-premise on a company internal network infrastructure, but also as a Software as a Service (SaaS) with the application and data hosted on-line to reduce costs.

As part of the introduction of this emerging technology, OIS offered conversion services to customers to assist with tackling the task of their back-file conversion. This service dramatically reduced the time to make electronic documents readily available in the EDM systems. Embracing the rapid changes in hardware and software development, OIS implemented production scanners and an open architecture software allowing for the ability to output data to multiple formats for added flexibility.

Today OIS remains in the forefront of this evolving technology providing scanning & information management solutions throughout the state of Arkansas and across the country.
